Mindfulness in the Workplace
Companies approach us because they feel their employees and leaders are going too fast. Often, engagement isn’t the issue but instead, employees being overly driven and not getting enough space to operate efficiently.
The environment we work in is increasingly complex and fast-paced and the evidence shows leaders need to be emotionally intelligent to succeed. We work with leaders, and their teams from keynotes to training programmes to allow the reflective space and skill growth they need to optimise space in the mind for better business.
Key training areas include:
- Mindful Leadership – emotional intelligence and resilience for modern leaders
- Creating new habits – practical Mindfulness skills and routines
- Mindful Communication – listening and empathy for better business relationships
Inspiring the curiosity to find balance and space at work
“Ruth has been an inspiration as we develop our internal wellbeing programme for staff here at the Royal Albert Hall. The ‘Science of Mindfulness’ talk was engaging and grounded making it feel relevant and accessible to a wide section of our workforce. Ruth’s corporate background resonates with even the busiest of us, and her calming approach allows us to connect to ours too. The interactive Mindfulness workshop Ruth delivered to our staff champions on our Wellbeing Network gave a deeper understanding and allowed practice to see the benefits and essential life skills that mindfulness can bring.”
“More than one year on [since our workplace course] I have a regular practise that informs every part of my life. It gives me space, has enabled me to learn from my mistakes, given me pause when before I would have rushed in, and I believe has helped me become a more patient and understanding manager and employer. After speaking with a couple of our key employees who attended the training, one reports the training has helped in her decision making – she is more considerate and patient. Another reports that she seems to have more time in her day and that she is no longer a slave to her to do list. I believe all who attended the training benefited enormously”
‘Although somewhat sceptical, I have had a really positive few days since the session and I put that down to Ruth and what we learnt. Very impressed and I’ve really benefited’
‘I have suffered with crippling anxiety on and off for the last two years. I was really anxious about attending this course as I wasn’t sure how it would make me feel. I was completely overwhelmed by what I learnt in such a short space of time and how great I felt afterwards. I haven’t been able to sleep properly for a long time, with the advice from Ruth I have slept every night this week which is incredible!’
‘Ruth is a wonderful, engaging facilitator with a no bull-shit approach whilst remaining respectful to everyone in the room. She was very interested in what every participant had to say and really listened. I found myself opening up in a group environment in a way that I never have done before’
‘As ever, Ruth has kindness, patience and intelligence unphased by the volume of a room full of dynamic leaders. Her calm and insistent instruction on the benefits and challenges of mindfulness take her away from simple evangelism and into pragmatic application of a scientific approach for mental health. Participants reported being less intimidated by the subject of mindfulness and interested in developing ways to apply her practice to their workplace. I couldn’t recommend this next step highly enough’
