We run 8 week Mindfulness courses in the St Albans area, Hertfordshire, just north of London. Training is for the general public to help people reduce stress and regain balance.
8 Week Mindfulness Course
Our practical 8 week Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Course is an evidence-based approach recommended by the National Insitute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) for the general public to equip you with meditation techniques and the tools for mindful living in a relaxed and friendly environment. Our Mindfulness courses contain teaching, group meditation training and reflection.
There will also be home meditations to do each day and activities to do in between sessions to allow us to reflect on how the practice is going as a group. The environment is warm and friendly and all practices are ‘an invitation’ to participate.
The course is suitable for those with no previous experience of Mindfulness or meditation but is also beneficial if you have been practising meditation already. It can help enhance overall health and well-being.
The 8-week course includes a combination of group meditation, group reflection and teaching. There are 8 sessions plus a day retreat.
Each session is centred around a Mindfulness theme. Whilst being teacher led the course is experiential. This means the biggest leanings come from your own experience of and your own meditation practice. You will be invited to take part in different meditations to help focus your awareness and observe your behaviour.

‘This course has been the beginning of self-discovery. I’m so grateful for being part of this wonderful experience…I’ve started to control my hot temper and I have learnt to face my emotions and accept things as they are and most importantly, to be kind to myself’
‘I would like to take the opportunity to say how much I have enjoyed the course and learnt so much about mindfulness and meditation…thank you for being such wonderful teachers’
‘Ruth & Karen have a gentle but informative approach, which allows participants in their course to build mindful foundations and explore their reactions and feelings in a group setting without any pressure. I would certainly recommend mindfulness to any and everyone, especially those troubled with anxiety, insomnia etc. and Ruth and Karen are great ‘tour guides’ on an uplifting journey!‘
‘The course has had a huge impact on my life. It’s changed the way I approach things and situations. I dwell on the past and “what ifs” much less, and when things don’t go the way I want, I’m able to step back and make an effort to respond rather than react‘
